Warehouse tent halls: covered floor space without the build programme

A tent hall is the quickest way to add covered, usable floor space to your operation. Instead of a planning and construction programme measured in months, an aluminium-frame hall clad in fire-retardant PVC can be up and working in a fraction of the time, and taken down again when you no longer need it.

These structures carry real commercial loads. With the right frame section and correct anchoring they handle wind and snow, and the clear-span design means an open floor with no columns to work around. They suit storage, light production, logistics buffering and covering a construction site.

Typical applications

A tent hall earns its keep wherever you need covered space faster or more flexibly than a permanent building allows.

  • Warehousing and seasonal storage overflow
  • Light production and assembly areas
  • Logistics cross-dock and buffer space
  • Construction site cover, plant and material storage
  • Temporary space during a rebuild or relocation

Clear span, no internal columns

The aluminium frame carries the load through the sidewalls and roof rather than internal posts, so you get an unobstructed floor from wall to wall. That makes racking layouts, forklift movement and drive-through operations far easier than in a structure full of columns.

Eaves height and door positions are specified to suit your handling equipment, whether that is a pallet truck, a reach truck or a lorry driving straight in.

PVC cladding with certificate

Halls are clad in heavy coated PVC membrane supplied with a fire-retardant certificate, which is frequently required for storing goods and for insurance. Walls can be solid, part-glazed for daylight, or fitted with roller shutters and personnel doors.

The membrane is weatherproof and, unlike a fabric tent for a single weekend, is specified to stay up all year.

Anchoring and loads

How the hall is fixed down depends on the ground. On soil we drive ground anchors or stakes; on concrete or asphalt we bolt base plates or use ballast. The anchoring is matched to the local wind exposure.

Snow load matters for permanent halls in colder regions: the frame section is chosen so the roof carries the expected load, and we can advise on clearing snow during heavy winters.

Hire long-term or buy

If you need the space for a defined period, long-term hire keeps it off your balance sheet and includes installation. If the need is ongoing, buying the hall usually works out cheaper over time and it remains a re-usable asset.

We will quote both routes so you can compare the monthly cost of hire against outright purchase for your term.

Frequently asked questions

How wide can a tent hall be?+

Clear spans are available across a wide range of widths, with length extended in bay increments. Tell us the floor area and headroom you need and we will specify the frame.

Is a tent hall warm enough to work in?+

Halls can be fitted with insulation, heating and lighting for year-round use. For storage that only needs weather protection, the standard membrane is often enough.

Do I need planning permission?+

Rules vary by country and by how long the structure stays up. Temporary buildings often face lighter requirements, but you should confirm the local position; we can supply the technical data you need for an application.
